Bio:
I’ve always had an affinity for the drums. If I don’t play them for just a little while, I start going a little stir crazy. More like the whole world tilts off its axis. I started music early in life. From 3 to 7 yrs old, my family was active in some kind of music involving choir, mariachi’s to playing guitar and accordion. It was then that I discovered drums. Neil Peart was the initial awe inspiring influence, along with Stuart Copeland, Nicko McBrain, Steve Smith, John Bonham, Bill Buford and Mitch Mitchel. Most recently, Carter Beauford, Danny Carrey, Dennis Chambers, Vinnie Paul and all the jazz greats; such as, Vinnie Colaiuta, Dave Weckl, Buddy Rich and anything I can absorb. I have mostly played Rock, Progressive Rock, Funk, Soul, Blues, Reggae with Jazz influence behind it all. I have also played Gospel, Americana, Elecronica, sampling to sequencers to currently playing Southern Metal and anything on the airwaves. I’m mostly into the classics, funk legends and jazz greats, but I also enjoy the new Hip Hop, R&B, old school Wrap artists and the phenomenal musicians that encompass all that imaginary. But believe it or not, some of my favorites don’t even have drums in them. So go figure. I’ve had the wonderful opportunity to work with great individuals in the studio setting and play at so many great venues around the world and I’m pleased to continue to further and expand the quality of my work. It’s really difficult to wax rhapsodic about yourself when you just plainly love what you do and can’t totally remember why you play, your just thankful and proud for the artists and professional that got you there.
